Rainbow's End Marine
Ship's Purse
Every shared expense, settled honestly.
The skipper's tool for tracking shared expenses on a charter voyage. Fuel, provisions, marina fees — log it as it happens, and the app tallies who owes what. Everyone knows the settlement before the dock lines are off.
Why it stands out
Different by design. Honest by doctrine.
Log it as it happens.
Add expenses at the fuel dock, the chandlery, or the marina office. The record is current because you keep it current.
Flexible splits.
Split an expense evenly, or assign shares by person. Fuel is split four ways; the skipper's provisioning run is split three. The app handles the arithmetic.
Crew can follow along.
Ship's Guest is a free companion app that lets crew monitor the purse in real time — contributions, costs, and what may come back to them at the end of the voyage.
Entirely offline.
No account, no server, no subscription. All expense data is stored on your device.
What it does
Built for the questions you actually ask at sea.
Expense log.
Date, amount, category, payer, and who shares it. Add a note for anything that needs one.
Settlement calculation.
Totals all expenses, divides by shares, and calculates the net amount each person owes or is owed. Review the full breakdown before settling.
Per-person summary.
What each crew member has contributed, what their share of expenses is, and the net settlement — positive or negative.
Export.
Export the full expense log and settlement as a document to share with crew or keep for your records.
What it won't do
What the app won't do is a feature.
Ship's Purse will not transfer money. It calculates who owes what — the settlement is between you and your crew.
It will not connect to any payment service or bank account.
It will not enforce splits. You decide how each expense is divided.
Money and friendship are a delicate combination at sea. Ship's Purse keeps the record honest so the conversation doesn't have to be.
