A link that goes quiet is an alarm.
If the connection to the boat drops, Monitor sounds an alarm. A link that has gone quiet must never look like a boat riding safely.

Her bearing and distance beneath it, and her name, hull color, and photo so you can tell her from the boat next door. It still points when there is no signal.

What it won't do
What the app won't do is a feature.
Monitor will not let crew disarm the watch, silence the alarm, or adjust the fence. It is read-only.
It will not work without Anchoring running on the boat's device with the watch armed.
It will not substitute for keeping a proper watch. It is an aid, not a replacement.
Monitor is an aid to judgment, not a substitute for keeping watch. A crew member ashore is not a watchkeeper. Use it to stay informed — not to stay ashore longer than conditions allow.
