Provisioning — Rainbow's End Marine

Rainbow's End Marine

Provisioning

Provision for the passage. Grocery list included.

Plan every meal of the voyage on a calendar, mark what's eaten ashore, say who drinks what and which allergies are aboard — and the calendar becomes the grocery list: every meal's ingredients times the crew, minus what's already in the lockers, rounded up to real packs.

Why it stands out

Different by design. Honest by doctrine.

The charter pattern, built in.

Full provisioning or split — breakfasts and lunches aboard, most dinners ashore — and meals underway lean to one pot a cook can manage in a seaway.

Arithmetic you can check.

You can't buy 13 eggs, so it buys 18. Fresh food planned past its keeping window is flagged; so is a meal someone aboard can't eat, with an alternative — never struck from the menu.

Accounts for what's already aboard.

Subtract what's in the lockers before the list is built. Walk the dock with exactly what you need, not what you'd need if you were starting from nothing.

Entirely offline.

Nothing leaves your phone unless you print or export it yourself, or switch on iCloud sync to keep your own iPhone and iPad the same.

What it does

Built for the questions you actually ask at sea.

Meal planning on a voyage calendar.

Plan every meal — breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks — for every day of the passage. Mark meals ashore so they don't generate a list.

Crew-aware quantities.

Crew count, dietary restrictions, and drink preferences all feed the calculation. The list is for the actual crew, not a round number.

Ingredient-level grocery list.

Every ingredient across every meal, consolidated and rounded up to real pack sizes. Print it for the crew or take it to the store on your phone.

Reusable meal and passage templates.

Save meal plans and passage patterns. Adjust for crew size and length each time without rebuilding from scratch.

What it won't do

What the app won't do is a feature.

  • Provisioning will not order groceries or connect to any store. The list is yours to take to the dock.

  • It will not account for spoilage at sea. It flags fresh food planned past its keeping window — the judgment call is yours.

  • It will not enforce dietary rules. You know your crew.

Provisioning calculates quantities from what you enter. If your recipe calls for six eggs and you enter four, the list will be short. Check the list before you leave the dock.
